Pengantar Komunikasi
In carrying out the functions, rights, obligations and role, the press respect the rights of every person, because it's a professional and open press is required to be controlled by society.
To ensure the independence of the press and meet the public's right to obtain correct information, journalists Indonesia requires a moral basis and ethics of the profession as operational guidelines in maintaining public trust and upholding integrity and professionalism. On that basis, Indonesian journalists establish and abide by the Code of Conduct of Journalism:
Point 1
Indonesian journalists to be independent, to produce news that are accurate, balanced, and did not act in bad faith.
Interpretation:
- Independent means preaching events or facts according to the voice of conscience without interference, coercion, and the intervention of other parties, including the owner of a news company.
- Accurate means is believed right fit objective circumstances when the event occurs.
- Balanced means that all parties get equal opportunity.
- Did not act in bad faith means no deliberate intention and solely to inflict losses the other party.
Indonesian journalists to take professional manner in carrying out journalistic duties.
Interpretation:
Indonesian journalists always test information, preaching a balanced way, not mixing fact and opinion judges, as well as applying the presumption of innocence.
Interpretation:
Indonesian journalists do not make false news, defamation, sadistic and obscene.
- Professional ways are:
- show identity to the informant;
- respect the right to privacy;
- no bribe;
- produces factual and clear news source; engineering retrieval and loading or broadcasting images, photographs, sound equipped with information about the source and display are balanced;
